I forgot to say, it was 7 years for me, obviously and exactly. I had given him my everything and took without giving.

I always loved Natalie. Who knew this would become a song of meaning to me. This is my life exactly. 1/2 a year ago I left that cheating SOB. I guess he never really got over his previous ex. She was good enough to run around with, but never left me for her. But I still found out. Fucking asshole.

The piano and violin in this song and in "my skin" kill me. I could listen to her music all day.

Natalie's voice is very similar to Carly Simon, who was big in the 70s. I've been a fan of Natalie Merchant since her days with 10KM, but after hearing this song in 1995 (I bought the CD on the day it came out) it hit me, and I knew why she sounded familiar.

I agree with MUSIKSF Natalie ....your music toches the depthes of my heart. There is not one song that I can't relate to. She will always be the #1 woman singer to me.
