Wrong buddy!!! Most of these states are run by governors that are libs like you. Republicans are no longer synonimous with fiscal restraint and conservativeism. Old Arnie R (Ca) is prime example of a RINO. Repub in name only! Legislatures like congress hold the purse strings, of course a governor will not veto a budget beholden to lib taxpayers for their feel good pork spending and wasteful spending. Conservative states are in NO such crisis and not even rmeotely close to one. You lose.

Please research before you talk. EVERY so called "LIBERAL" state you mention has has Republican Governors for most of the last two decades. Their "starve the beast" policies are intended to shrink governments through bankruptcy. If you agree with that fine, but don't bitch about state bankruptcy as a Liberal caused event. It's a conscious Republican strategy to "shrink government". Look it up and post responsibly next time. I'm not a "liberal" - I just don't like disinformation.

Every state in the union right now that is on verge of bankruptcy are ALL legislatures that are run by liberals: Cali, NY, Vermont, Mass, Illinois. Meanewhile every state run by conservatives are financially healthy: Tx, Ok, Na, Al, etc. Libs have NO CLUE on how to run any multi bill/trill $ budget, often buttressed with a bunch of wasteful, feel good pork and waste to expand their control of our lives. NO FEDERAL BAILOUT for the irrespsonsible libs. We will ALL pay the price!

Possibly. But it's more likely that it's been so profitable and Bush has managed to not be impeached or assassinated for 8 years they just got together and said: "Hey. The American People accepted 911, WMDs, and the Patriot Act without noticing we were full of shit. Let's see if we can get 800 billion dollars before leaving office, and get people to think it's for keeping them from losing their homes."
